Revelation That Leads to Transformation

As I got up this morning and began to meditate on the things of God, I kept coming back to something that surfaced strongly in our prayer meeting last night. One phrase kept echoing in my heart.

Revelation leads to transformation.

I realised again that this isn’t just true for one area of life. It’s the way God works in every area. It’s the way transformation always begins.

When someone isn’t a Christian, the Bible tells us that the enemy blinds their eyes. The light of the gospel is there, but it’s as though they can’t see it. I’ve heard so many people talk about their conversion experience and say the same thing. They become a Christian and suddenly they start noticing churches everywhere. They’ll say, “I don’t know why, but I never noticed them before. I never saw them.”

Nothing about the buildings changed. What changed was their sight.

That’s why Jesus said He was anointed to heal the blind. Not just physically, but spiritually. For a non-believer to receive the gospel, there has to be a revealing, a removal of blindness, a moment where light breaks in. That revelation opens the door to real transformation.

Sometimes we want conversion to look extreme. We want tears, laughter, people falling over, dramatic moments. And those things can happen. But transformation isn’t measured by physical response. It’s measured by what happens in the spirit.

A revelation of the gospel without transformation produces no lasting result. Someone can say, “I know Jesus is alive. I know He is God,” but if they don’t receive Him, there is no inward change. And equally, transformation cannot happen without revelation.

You can improve areas of your life without revelation. You can work hard, train your body, change habits, and see some outward change. But without understanding, without revealed knowledge, you’ll always be striving to maintain something you don’t truly understand. You’ll be fighting to hold on to a result instead of living from a place of truth.

God’s way is different. He invites us into a process where He shows us what needs to change, so transformation can take root. This is the foundation of becoming a new creation in Christ Jesus. Moving from darkness into light. Revelation that brings transformation.

And this principle applies to every part of our walk with God. Without a revelation of righteousness, you won’t walk confidently in your standing with Him. Without a revelation of healing, you’ll struggle to walk in health. These truths don’t come by striving. They come by meditation. By time in the Word. By letting Scripture speak to you, shape you, and renew your thinking.

That’s really the heart of this post today. These are basic principles, but they are powerful ones. Revelation produces transformation over time.

The Bible talks about guarding your heart, because out of it flow the issues of life. The shifts we long for don’t come from information alone. They come from relationship. Revelation flows out of relationship.

If you want transformation in your life, you need relationship. Relationship brings understanding. Understanding brings intimacy. And intimacy opens the door for God to work deeply in us.

That’s why walking with Jesus matters so much. He is the Word. The Holy Spirit lives within us to guide us. We learn to live by the Spirit through prayer, through staying sensitive, through remaining close. Transformation flows from intimacy.

I want you to hear my heart in this. Relationship leads to understanding. Understanding leads to revelation. And revelation produces transformation.

If you want healing in your body, you need revealed knowledge of what God has already done. If you want lasting change, you need truth rooted deep enough to produce fruit. The power of the gospel is that it brings salvation, and salvation touches every area of life.

Jesus is the Great Shepherd. The Spirit of God leads us. The Father has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing. He has already provided what we need. But to walk in it, we need revelation. We need connection. We need relationship with Jesus through His Word, so the Spirit of God has something to work with on the inside of us.

As Faith Life Preston moves forward, we know things need to change. We need growth. We need to push through growing pains. We need to step into new levels. All the greater things we’re believing for will be birthed in relationship.

Last night in prayer I was speaking about Jacob wrestling with the messenger of God. He refused to let go until he received a blessing. Some of us need that same determination. Some of us need to cling a little longer.

It’s like a child learning to walk. There’s that moment when they let go of their parent’s hand. There’s excitement, but there’s also fear. Some of us aren’t ready to walk alone yet. And that’s okay. God wants us to grow, but sometimes growth means holding on until the blessing is secured.

The growing pains, the frustrations, the shifts we’re experiencing, they’re all part of the process. They lead to the growth we need.

I’m sharing this openly because Louise and I are walking through situations ourselves. We’re choosing to open our hearts, to stay close to God, to seek the revelation we need for the transformation required at the next level.

Every athlete knows this truth. To perform at a higher level, you have to train at a higher level. You can’t stay where you were last year, or even last month. In every arena there are shifts. Seasons change. New players rise. Others step aside.

I believe there is a shifting happening in the church. God is rearranging things, raising people, changing patterns, because what He wants to do requires a depth we haven’t always walked in before. It will take people who refuse to let go of the Word. Who refuse to let go of the Spirit. Who are hungry for real transformation.

My heart is to see every one of us step into true purpose. True lifestyle change. True transformation. Not something that lasts a few weeks, but something that carries us forward into higher levels.
