Increase, Not Just Provision

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 (NLT)

For a long time, many of us have lived with what I’d call a provision mindset. It’s not wrong. It’s understandable. It’s even noble.

We pray things like, “God, help me get through this month.” “Help me pay the bills.” “Look after my kids.” “Just get us through.” And God hears that. He is a Father. In fact, His name reveals it. He is El Shaddai, the God who provides, the God who is more than enough.

But here’s the tension I’ve been sitting with lately. If all we ever believe for is provision, our faith eventually has nowhere to go. Our vision shrinks to survival. And survival, while real, was never the end goal.

Everything God creates carries multiplication in its DNA. One seed becomes many. One tree produces hundreds of seeds. Life multiplies because God designed it that way.

Even the cross worked like that. When God gave His Son, it wasn’t loss. It was seed. And on the other side came many sons and daughters.

Provision meets needs. Increase expands capacity.

Provision says, “I’m okay.” Increase says, “Others can be helped.”

When our mindset stays centred on ourselves, even unintentionally, we stop building bridges to the world we’re called to reach. Scripture talks about caring for the household of faith, yes, but overflow was always meant to reach further than us.

Increase isn’t just about receiving more. It’s about pouring out more.

A bigger building isn’t just space. It’s opportunity. More resources aren’t just comfort. They’re responsibility. More capacity means more people touched, more lives shaped, more stories written by the Spirit of God.

That’s why I believe Greater Things in 2026 is really about increase. Not selfish increase. Kingdom increase.

An increase in vision. An increase in wisdom. An increase in generosity. An increase in impact.

A provision mindset asks God to hold us up. An increase mindset lets God move through us.

Paul said God’s grace is more than enough. Strength comes in weakness. Riches come through grace. And grace always multiplies.

When our thinking is ruled by circumstances, the natural sits on the throne of our lives. But we’re seated with Christ. Our perspective is meant to be higher.

God isn’t a crutch to lean on while we struggle through. He’s the strength within us. The life-giving power that causes everything to live again.

This morning, the sky is clear. Cold air. The moon hanging quietly as I walked. It felt like a reminder. A fresh day. A clean page.

God is not withdrawing. He is drawing us forward.

Signing off, Andy
