Greater Things

It’s the second day of January. The sky is blue. The sun is rising. There’s a chill in the air, but it feels clean rather than cold. Refreshing.

As I’ve stepped into 2026, the phrase that keeps returning is Greater Things. It’s not new. It’s been prophesied recently by my pastor. But over the last while, God has been refining how I carry it, especially when it comes to prosperity and growth.

At one point, I felt the Holy Spirit gently nudge me. “Don’t use the word prosperity. Use the word increase.” That shift mattered.

Increase doesn’t just speak to money. It speaks to every dimension of life. Strength. Peace. Capacity. Influence. Wisdom. Joy. Reach. And when I look through Scripture, increase isn’t a modern idea. It’s God’s original expectation for humanity.

He blessed Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply. After the flood, He spoke the same thing to Noah. He told Abraham he would be blessed to be a blessing, the father of many nations. Jesus went to the cross fully aware that on the other side of it would be many sons brought to glory.

Increase has always been Heaven’s direction.

We don’t just have a duty to grow. There’s something placed inside us that longs to expand. Jesus told us to go into all the world and preach the gospel. He said the gates of hell would not prevail against the Kingdom He is building. The Kingdom advances. It increases.

Paul often prayed that grace and peace would be multiplied. He rejoiced deeply in the partnership of the Philippian church, not just because they gave, but because they understood increase through Kingdom partnership. He taught clearly that those who sow bountifully reap bountifully, that grace increases, that sufficiency grows, and that good works abound.

Increase touches every area of life. It’s personal growth. Mental health. Physical strength. It’s going to the gym. Taking walks. Becoming stronger over time. Even science points to this. Strength builds longevity, resilience, and quality of life. Increase is built into how we flourish.

And practically, the world itself teaches us this. Inflation always rises. If we stay the same, we’re actually moving backwards. Increase includes promotion, adding value, growing skill, expanding capacity. Businesses aim to grow. Teams grow. Vision grows.

And when increase comes, it overflows. It supports the work of Jesus in the earth.

As I walk today, early January air on my face, I’m approaching this year with a settled resolve. I won’t fail because I won’t quit. There’s a holy push inside me toward growth, toward effectiveness, toward seeing as many people as possible encounter Jesus.

I thank God for greater things in 2026. That my children will be stronger. That my marriage will be better. That our needs will not only be met, but overflow will follow. That the work of Jesus will increase in Faith Life Preston, in Faith Life Centre Ministries, and in my own life.

This isn’t about chasing numbers. It’s about numbers becoming reality through faithful systems, healthy structures, and obedience. God blesses what He ordains, and when He ordains something, He equips it. And when God works, He works by increase.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

That’s why we don’t live anxious. Anxiety replaces trust. Jesus taught us to seek first the Kingdom and trust our Father to meet every need.

“For your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.”

From that place, desires grow. Vision grows. Hope grows. Faith grows. God both gives us the desires of our heart and places them within us.

2026 is a year of greater things. Greater measure. Greater joy. Greater faith. Greater victory.

“Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams.”

Last year was about learning to rest in Him. This year is about moving forward from that rest into truly Greater Things.

The air is fresh today. My heart feels steady. Rooted in love. And as we walk together this year, choosing love and choosing faith, I believe we’re going to see remarkable things unfold.
