Fear Not, Only Believe
I will not fear. I will not fear. I will not fear.
Jesus said to Jairus very quickly, as soon as He could, as soon as He realised that fear was trying to interrupt the movement of healing towards Jairus’ daughter. Jesus responded so fast: “Do not be afraid; only believe.” (Mark 5:36)
Fear not, only believe. I must have that as a mantra. You must have that as a mantra. Fear not, only believe.
When Jesus spoke those words out, He was halting the very effects of death that were going to cloud Jairus’ mind. Fear is a clouding, interfering, compressing, constricting spirit that comes and tries to attach itself. If you allow depression on your mind, fear will get in. If you allow confusion on your mind, fear will get in. Fear comes and tries to cripple the very movement of the Healer that is coming to your house.
Jesus went to Jairus’ daughter and healed that child. They said she was dead. He said she was sleeping. Fear was saying “it’s over,” faith was saying “she will rise.”
Meditate Day and Night
Joshua was told in Joshua 1 to meditate day and night on the very laws of God, the law that was written down on the tablets. He was told to keep it in his mouth and in his mind continually.
That is how you and I must handle this word: “Fear not, only believe.” Meditate it. Turn it over. Speak it out. Let it become the default setting of your heart.
Perfect Love & the Holy Spirit
Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and perfected love lives on the inside of you because it’s the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. It’s the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. It’s the Holy Spirit of love. It’s the Holy Spirit of action. It’s the Holy Spirit of faith and victory.
The Holy Spirit in you causes you to rise up, speak up, and declare with boldness. That Spirit on the inside of you is meant to be stirred up, spoken out, and pulled on.
When Jesus said, “Fear not, only believe,” He halted the very effects of death on that girl’s body. It put things into a stasis where fear could not finish its work. Believing only, rejecting fear, stops and halts the very death sentence on your life.
If you can listen to what I’m saying: fear not, only believe.
You Have Not Received a Spirit of Fear
Perfect love in you casts out all fear. You have not received a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
You have a spirit of love. God is love. The fruit of the Spirit all flows out of love, and against such there is no law (Galatians 5:22–23).
Can love be defeated? No. Love casts out all fear. Love one another as you love yourself. The “golden rule” flows from love in your heart. The same Spirit who lives in you, the anointing that teaches you, the anointing that destroys and breaks the yoke of bondage, is the Spirit of love.
God is love. Be an imitator of God, for God is love. And love has no fear. Love has faith in God, because faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).
When faith is working by love, perfected love casts out fear. Faith builds structure and substance under your dreams. Fear cannot choke your dreams when your faith is operating and working, and it’s working by the love that has cast out all the fear.
There is so much more to delve into, but I’m saying this, and I’m saying it again:
Fear not. Only believe.
