The Voice You Hear.
In my church these last few months, we have focussed on our vision for 2025. Most of my sermon titles have started with “Fill the House with [fill in the blank].” The idea is to keep the vision going towards the increase that God has promised us. It is also very helpful to see the heart of God towards us all in every message!
God wants to the FILL THE HOUSE and that house is YOU!
You are the temple of God. You are filled with His Spirit. You contain within the very spirit of power, love and sound mind. You have been filled with potential and ability. There is gifting inside you. God has placed in you the seed of eternal life. It is our responsibility to grow that seed.
“Fulfilment is the alignment.” I heard those words as I was praying on New Year’s Eve, 2024. It was clear. I heard and have been meditating on those few words consistently. Know this, your life can be filled with abundance. Your body can be strong and healthy but you must understand that your job, your family, your life must be alignment with God’s Word. In order for you to hear God’s voice and act on it the lines of communication must be clear. Things become clear when you are aligned.
I have recently said, “The Word without the Spirit becomes empty, dry.” While this is true I never want to become unbalanced. We do not want to go the other way because without the Word the Spirit will burn you up! The combination to open up your heart and propel you in life is the moulding together of The Word and The Spirit.
It’s the Word and the Spirit that produces life.
You must understand that the Spirit of God works with the Word planted in your heart. The Word of God is the seed to the tree of prosperity, health, life, and success that you desire. The seed must be planted. You can’t pray a seed into being, you need to plant it. Plants need watering, the water is the Word!
The Israelites in Deuteronomy 28:1 were told to faithfully obey the voice of the Lord. In order for you and I to hear the voice of the Lord it is important to have the correct foundation in your heart. The foundation is necessary before you try to listen. If you don’t put the correct information a stray voice that doesn’t line up to The Word of God can sound very enticing.
When you have the seed of the Word of God planted in your heart you can then take the time to listen to the Spirit. The more Word that lives in you the more accurate you will hear and the more accurately you can obey. When you obey the voice of the God your success will become evident! Healing manifests, prosperity springs forth and you see lives changed around you.
Hear and Obey.
The key is to hear and obey. To hear you must be strongly aware of the procedures. The procedures, once located, will change your life! The Bible is your procedure manual for life. Keep your eyes on it and when you do your eyes will be looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Jesus is the Word!
Steps to obedience and ultimately, alignment…
- Read your Bible. Consume it. Listen to it. Think about it.
- Talk to yourself and others about the Bible. As you talk you hear. When you hear faith will rise up and confidence in what you talk is strengthened.
- Develop your heart and mind. Put what the Bible says first in every circumstance. Take the Word of God as final authority over situations and circumstances that you face. When it says rejoice…REJOICE! When it says give…GIVE!
- Listen to your heart. Deep inside The Spirit lives and is in communication with your spirit. Your spirit will reveal to your mind what God is saying straight to you. That knowing on the inside will be in the form of peace. When you sense peace in your heart you know you are on the right track! Your heart will never contradict the Word.
- Obey quickly what you hear. Don’t react but learn to put into place what you see in the Word and hear in your heart. Don’t delay or hang on for the right moment, trust in God and keep going forward.
- Step out in faith. Be confident. It may feel like you are going over a cliff but be assured if God is for you, no man can be against you. The path will be become solid as you the follow the leading of your heart.
- Live out what you step out on. Don’t compromise. Don’t decide to half obey. Don’t put man’s solutions in front of what you know God said. Listen and accurately obey.
- Enjoy the process. Faith can feel like a long winding road but the journey is worth it! You will arrive at your destination and then another journey will begin.
- NEVER GIVE UP!
