You know who you are!

Ever since I have been a young child I have known that I was born again. I made a decision very young to serve Jesus and I was raised in a family of Holy Ghost believers. I attended church all through my childhood and into my teens. I stopped going to church for a short time because I got a Sunday job. That didn’t last long and I changed my shifts as revival was starting to sweep the world. I was hungry for God as I lived into my 20s and getting married my wife and I were both committed to our church.

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ…”

Romans 8:16,17

Church attendance does not mean you are saved. Doing the right thing does not mean you are saved. Being raised in a Christian home does not mean you are going to heaven. You have to make a decision. You have to serve Jesus, making Him Lord of your life.

The Change on the Inside.

That decision is the foundation of your future. That decision changes you on the inside. You become born again. Your spirit is made alive. You become filled with the Spirit of God and you are saved. This process is what becomes your reality. This is how you know who you are.

On the inside of you the Spirit of God communicates with your heart the things of God. This is how I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I am going to heaven. I know that I am born again because on the inside of me there is a spirit that is alive. My heart is at peace, my heart is full of joy, because I know who I am. The Spirit of God bears witness with my heart and that witness is good!

Because of this connection you know you are a child of God. You are in a relationship that goes deeper than any contract or verbal commitment. You know that you are an heir of God, a fellow heir with Jesus. You have an eternal inheritance that is reserved for you in the heavenly realms. That inheritance is available to be tapped into as you live your life on earth.

As it is in Heaven.

Jesus prayed to the Father. The relationship He had was deep, personal and glorious. When Jesus died and was rose again from the grave the price was paid so that you and I could have the same relationship. We don’t have to wait to get to heaven to commune with the Spirit of God. He lives in us. He floods our being. He is the joy of our salvation and the covenant connection within.

The Spirit of God in you is your lifeline. He is your counsellor and your support. He is the answer to all wisdom you need in life. He is on your side and will work with you as you pray and navigate this life. He will lead you to green pastures and place you at the table of total provision. He will lead you into all things God!

You know who you are because He lives inside you. You have a witness. You have a leading. You have a direct line to the throne room of God. Lean into what is inside. Listen to the voice of God. Spend time pressing in and pulling on peace. Wait upon the Lord and He will renew your strength!

Be Led!

Be confident today in who you are. In Christ you have been raised out of darkness into the light. The light opens up the path ahead. The light lets you see your surroundings and the voice of the light speaks clearly to you. Follow the leadings of the Spirt of God today. Listen for the peace of God in your heart. You can’t go wrong when you follow peace.
