Focussed Faith
“Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]. For you died [to this world], and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Colossians 3:1-3 AMP
Easter has come and gone again. The chocolates are being munched or perhaps have already disappeared. Resurrection Sunday has been celebrated all over the world with Christians remembering the total victory that Jesus achieved over the enemy.
Our faith in Jesus is central to our lives. Our belief in our saviour is at its core the life we lead. We are in a perpetual state of victory because of what took place 2000 years ago.
The church is alive and well and is headed towards a glorious reception in heaven very soon. The world looks bad. It gets worse every day as the enemy takes its grip through the methods of sin and death but the spirit of life is also working.
Our focus is not on a dying world but on things that produce life. Our eyes are on things above, things of a heavenly nature. Our faith is focussed.
Focussed faith is not wishy washy. Focussed faith is a faith that sees what God has already declared. Faith is substance. Faith takes what is on the inside of the believer that starts in hope or a dream. Faith builds and works with the excitement and the passion within a believer and begins to construct a framework to see dreams achieved.
A godly dream that has flowed from the throne room and into the heart of the believer is a beautiful thing. When we seek His kingdom first there begins a process of connection. A connection that is holy and centred on the Word of God.
The things that God has for me and for you is good! God is good!! The connection you have in the spirit is eternal. He wants you to succeed. It will take grit. It will take work. It will take faith.
In order for you to achieve all that lives inside of you must focus your faith. That focus must be consistent. It must have the foundation of habit. A habit that lives off of the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
When we realise everything we need lives on the inside of us, not in our way or our own thinking but in the part of us that is connected to eternity, we will see the result of God’s involvement in our lives. The treasure of Christ. The riches of His love. The depths of His wisdom.
We have the mind of Christ. You have a brain that is capable of processing what God tells you to do. You can hear the answer in your heart and can pull from the presence of the Holy Spirit and put into action all that rises up in your heart.
Take time today to focus your faith. Take time to look at things above. Take time to sense what the dream inside is saying. Maybe you need to take a step today. Maybe you need to put into action a simple plan that creates a new future for your family.
It might be something creative, something practical or maybe it is making steps to repair a relationship. The dreams and hopes that live on the inside of you, the treasure that comes from heaven, are achievable. They wouldn’t be there if you couldn’t go after them. They don’t have to be big. If they are godly they won’t add a burden to your life. You won’t be miserable trying to attain them.
Jesus is the ultimate life provider. It is in His job description. He was sent to bring you life. He went to the cross to provide you access to life. You are to become the bearer of that life to all those around you. Your dreams will bear fruit for others. You will be a blessing, you were created to be the best and most fruitful person wherever God has placed you!!
Look to Jesus. Keep your faith focused on things above. Talk about what He has done and what He is doing in your life. A focussed faith speaks the Word, sings praises and takes action on the dreams and hope that springs from the eternal fountain of life residing in your heart!
You are a success…Jesus made you one…now go out by faith and walk in it!!
