‘He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.’
Matthew 16:15-19
The Christ: The Anointed One, Jesus, the Messiah. The revelation Peter received and spoke out that day creates the foundation for the Church age. The Anointed One. Jesus was not only Saviour to the world to remove them from hell into heaven but He was more than that. He was and is anointed.
If something is anointed it is covered. The word means to pour over, smear into and to cover with oil, water, etc. You cannot separate Jesus from His anointing which means you cannot separate His body from that same anointing.
Isaiah 10:27 says the anointing breaks the yoke, removes the burden. Acts 10:38 says that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing good, healing ALL that were oppressed of the devil! Jesus was anointed to preach the Good News, backed by the power of the Holy Spirit to bring freedom to a hurting and dying world.
Our foundation is this. Our foundation is the chief cornerstone, Jesus, Himself. We aren’t to deviate from the plan. The world is in a mess and we as the body of Christ, are anointed and equipped to deal with the mess. We have the answer. We have the authority over the enemy. If we move on this revelation the very gates of Hell will not prevail!
The revelation of who Jesus is needs to become so real on the inside of us that even if the enemy is full attack mode nothing he attemptd phases us. In fact, living a life in the spirit means that he is under our feet which means we don’t even consider what He is doing. We are enforcing our victory by taking ground. As we move forward under instruction, as our assignment is revealed, as we pray and yield to the spirit we are simply applying the victory and the revelation of Jesus in our lives.
Our lives become useful to the Father. We begin to develop our talents. We begin to move forward and reach those around us. We simply walk out the love of God and the anointing flows. I believe that we need to simplify the message sometimes. Life in God is not complicated. He is on our side and He is never trying to withhold His blessing in our lives. He has no limitations to what we can achieve. When we get the revelation Peter received we will be willing and able to step out of our comfort zone knowing that we are backed by heaven and heaven is UNDEFEATED!
Today, take the time to meditate on who Jesus is. Mull it over on the inside of you until the revelation pops inside you. Don’t just do it today…do it tomorrow and the next day. This is the revelation that enables to the Church to prevail in victory as the very gates of hell cannot stand against us!! You are a success. You are victorious. You are anointed with same anointing that flowed through Jesus. Stand today with your shoulders back and your chest out with a shout of victory in you mouth!
Jesus, you are the Christ…the Son of the Living God!
