Because we can!

It feels like it has been awhile since I written a blog post! Lot’s of things have been happening over the last couple of weeks and it feels like time has flown by but at the same time stayed quite still. It is great when you have fun but really have the time to enjoy the fun…not just move on and look for the new thing.

I have been recording and teaching a new series for Word of Faith Training which will be released this month. I’ll make sure put up the details so you can find out more. Last week my family and I were able to take a short break in the Lakes here in the UK. I have also been out and about cycling on my new exercise adventure! This doesn’t include having no internet (so no broadcasts) for three days and then me deciding to lock myself out of my phone for another three days.

Anyways, enough about my adventures. I have been enjoying the wind down time and have been meditating all about faith for the last few weeks. Our lives as believers are based around faith, it is our foundation. The trust and certainty that Jesus provides as our Lord is what we base our complete existence on. If you don’t, Jesus Himself says we are building on sand and not the Rock.

The righteous believer lives a life of faith, faith which pleases the Father! There is something about faith that makes the Father rise up on our behalf. Faith in Him pleases Him. Faith is more than a belief system. Faith is substance, a force, something to be reckoned with. The enemy of our soul, who can only deal with us in the natural realm in order to defeat us, can’t defeat our faith. Our faith is, in fact, mountain moving!

Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. But if you refuse to forgive, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.”

Mark 11:22-25

This passage of scripture is so simple and clear yet so many believers (including myself) have struggled with the simplicity. It seems like Jesus is saying all things are possible to those that believe…and speak. We can have what we say? No. That can’t be right…can it? That means if we say something it will come to pass?

You know it’s true. You know that what you have been saying happens in your life all the time! If you voice your feelings they will be magnified. If you constantly talk about something in the negative you suddenly start seeing that thing in your life everywhere. If you talk about buying something you often manage to talk yourself into completing the purchase! I could go on.

I love the fact that Jesus is using a mountain to demonstrate this principle. Moving a mountain with your words is impossible!! Is it? Not to the one who spoke them into existence. Jesus was there when creation happened! The Word released into the atmosphere to instigate creation. To us moving a mountain with our words is truly beyond the scope of possibility. It cannot be done. Now, of course, I am not expecting you to move a mountain or anything physical with your words but we deal with the spirit side of our words.

Our words are powerful and if you look into the second half of what Jesus is saying He shifts from words to telling us how to pray. I love that. He moves from saying we can have what we say taking a seemingly impossibility, an example, straight into relationship with the Father. Suddenly our prayers are put into the realm of possibility! What we deem as impossible can be lifted into the Fathers arms and received into the reality of our lives!

Simply put…why do we pray?

Because we can.

We have the opportunity, as believers, to pray. We can literally ask anything that lines up with God’s Word and receive it. That means our dreams become possible. Our lives become connected to a God who demonstrates His love for us by answering our prayers. When we believe and when we receive we pray and we have the solution, the answer, the manifestation. It is possible to receive the impossible!

Why do we pray? Why do we believe? Why do we speak faith?

Because we can.

God has provided us with mountain moving faith therefore we pray! We pray because having faith in God is the answer to every human condition. Sin is wiped out by our faith in God. Sickness and disease flees before us as we speak in faith. Poverty and lack melts as we declare words of life, prosperity and increase.

Because we can.

We can pray big. We can increase the size of our dreams. We can lift others out of their problems and bring them into contact with the God of the universe! Our prayers can produce results because inside of you and I is mountain moving faith. Our faith is in a God of love, victory and magnificence.

Because we can.
